I have a friend who currently thinks he has an outdated graphics driver and when I checked all the drivers not one was compatible with his driver. I was wondering if I was wrong or it is actually stuck for him.

Thee driver you should be using is that for Intel® 6th-10th Gen Processor Graphics. The latest driver package is available here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/762755. I suggest you manually download this package and attempt to install it. If this attempt fails, try the following:

Disable Internet access. Disconnect Ethernet cable and/or disable Wireless.
Uninstall the current driver.
Reboot, keeping Internet access disabled.
Install the new driver.
Reenable Internet.
Test.
