Hello,

thanks a lot, "Show or hide updates" works, even if I fear that I need to be careful with every Windows Update, as I guess next version of this driver published there will need to be hidden again?

Hello,

sorry, I guess this question is so very generic that it may be answered a hundred times, but I have not found surfing and searching support pages and community.

It's quite simple but very annoying.

Driver- and Support Assistent alerted, offered and installed "Intel® Prozessorgrafik der 6. bis 10. Generation – 31.0.101.2121". Restarted system, and now Windows update found and installed "Intel Corporation - Display - 30.0.100.9864". Guess what, Driver- and Support Assistent offers "31.0.101.2121" again.

I do not see a way to get this specific hardware component excluded on one of these updaters (Driver- and Support Assistent at least offers to skip this version).

Any suggestions?

Regards

I have been experiencing the same issue. It is with the Intel UHD Graphics 750. Unfortunately, if you have a third party motherboard you have to wait for the manufacturer to release the graphics driver update. I have had enough with ASUS and there limited driver releases. I have a Gamers board. I expected updates more frequently, especially when it come to graphics.

I've been an Intel board guy for years. Intel always released updates on a monthly basis. Asus, once a year if that. From what I understand, there is coding in the firmware of the motherboard that will prevent the End User from installing directly from Intel.

However, there is a workaround. I have used a driver utility program. The updated drivers are installed, and Windows Update doesn't revert back to the former driver. In this case, would be the graphics. How long will this last? Your guess is as good as mine. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

You can avoid this battle between Intel and Microsoft.

Download and install the Intel driver you want.

Then, reboot your system.

Then, run the Microsoft wuShowHide utility (attached) and HIDE the older Microsoft driver update.

That will stop Windows from installing the older driver.

That is possible, and has happened to me. But, usually once done, you are OK.
