Hello,

I just installed DSA on a fresh install of Windows 11 22H2.

After restart it notified me of an update:

So I downloaded the update and started the installation and got this:

I deleted the download from C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA\Downloads and refreshed the page, downloaded the update again and got the same error.

So I grabbed the DSA uninstaller from Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller and repeated the whole process and got the same error again.

Any ideas please?

Hi, I am also facing the same issue. I am facing it with my graphics driver. Snippets below,

DSA also doesn't scan for new drivers anymore after this issue. It always shows scanning failed due to some or the other error.

Kindly suggest how I can fix this, as I have tried clean installation multiple times, and it does not work. Please assist at the earliest.
Thanks

Hello I'm having trouble too,
I even rolled back to windows 10 and I'm still having issues udating or atleast making sure my CPU drivers are up to date
including making sure the intel driver software are installed or reinstalled,

Intel Driver & Support Assistant won't help you saying No supported driver or software updates available for your system.
it won't even bother checking if its at least up to date.

Windows Update also won't help you.

This type of support on Devices and Drivers is unacceptable
when you can't make sure Drivers are up to date even if it is supported or unsupported.

It's incredibly frustrating when the burden falls on consumers to jump through hoops just to keep their devices functional.
Ideally, companies should ensure their products remain compatible and supported for as long as possible.

Unfortunately, the tech industry often prioritizes rapid innovation and profit margins over long-term support,
which can leave users in a tough spot. This isn’t fair, It's a systemic issue that needs addressing by the industry as a whole.

It Promotes E-Waste and forces the consumer to pay or risk having no support or compatibility.

so here is what I got from this,

I have been given A error code which should be easily remedied by actually giving out a proper readout instead of installer exit code 8,

What I have found out based on what I have is that it gives out that

Your system has an Intel Core i7-6700 CPU, which includes Intel HD Graphics 530.

But your primary GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, and that’s what’s active.

The installer is trying to detect Intel display/audio devices (like HD Graphics or Display Audio), but it’s failing with errors like:

ERROR|Something went wrong while loading "DisplayDevice".
ERROR|No Intel media devices were found.
ERROR|Could not find driver file.

✅ What This Means

These errors are not critical—they just mean the installer didn’t find any active Intel graphics hardware to install drivers for.

That’s expected, because your NVIDIA GPU is likely set as the primary display adapter, and your BIOS may have disabled the integrated Intel GPU.

The installer is scanning for Intel display/audio devices (like iigd_dch.inf, IntcDAud.inf) but finds nothing to match them to.

🔧 What You Can Do (If You Want Intel GPU Support)

If you want to install Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers (e.g., for Quick Sync video encoding or hybrid GPU setups):

Check BIOS Settings:

Look for an option like “iGPU Multi-Monitor” or “Integrated Graphics”

Set it to Enabled

Save and reboot

Check Device Manager:

After reboot, see if Intel HD Graphics 530 appears under Display adapters

If it does, install the driver manually using: 🔗 Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2115 (DCH)

If You Don’t Need It:

You can ignore these errors. Your system is working fine with the RTX 2060.

The Intel installer is just reporting that it didn’t find any compatible devices—it’s not a failure.

✅ What You Can Install for the i7-6700

While there’s no single “CPU driver,” here are the three key driver packages that support your processor:

1. Intel Chipset INF Utility

Tells Windows how to properly configure the CPU and motherboard chipset

Doesn’t show up in Device Manager, but it’s essential for stability

Download Intel Chipset INF Utility in

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15084/intel-ethernet-adapter-complete-driver-pack.html

2. Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI)

Enables power management, firmware communication, and system monitoring

Required for some advanced features like Intel AMT or thermal control

Download Intel MEI Driver in

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351/intel-wireless-wi-fi-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html

3. Intel HD Graphics 530 Driver (Optional)

Only needed if you want to use the integrated GPU

Requires enabling the iGPU in BIOS (which your Dell system disables when a discrete GPU is installed)

Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2115 (Final for i7-6700) in

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/762755/intel-6th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html

⚠️ If your BIOS disables the iGPU (which it does when your RTX 2060 is installed), this driver will fail to install.

So Copilot told me that in order to run the installer that I would have to remove my graphics card temporarily because my BIOS disables it.

Thats stupid and whatever drivers that I need won't install unless I remove my graphics card turn on my computer, install it and then put my GPU back in after shutting down,

At least that should fix it right?
