I have a problem. Many times, mostly when I play a video fullscreen or a game, the screen flashes black for a second and then back to normal.

This may happen 3 or 4 times in a row. I've seen a similar discussion in the forum but i dont think it applies to my situation. This happens both with the HDMI connection and the regular. I would really appreciate your help.

System Specifications:

Operating System

    Microsoft Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

CPU

    Intel Core i5 3330 @ 3.00GHz

    Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology

RAM

    4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 667MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard

    Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

Thanks for the info George,

The BIOS version you currently have (F8) has seen a few updated/corrections. Gigabyte is currently on F16. I've provided a link to the download page for your motherboard here; http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4144# bios http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4144# bios

Download the latest BIOS update and run it, and let me know if you're issue is corrected or not.

Thanks,

-Nic

It would appear that the Gigabyte BIOS do not have an executable updater. I checked the specs for your motherboard, and it does support "Q Flash" - which can be used for updating ("flashing") your BIOS. Here is a guide from Gigabyte on how to do so; http://www.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/121/flashbios_qflash.pdf http://www.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/121/flashbios_qflash.pdf

Give that a try, and let me know how it goes!

-Nic
