Hello I have a Toshiba P50-C00W, and a lg 34UC88-B monitor capable of 3440x1440 60Hz.

But the intgrated grepahics is only caping me at 50hz, and when I try to make a custom resolution with 60Hz i get "custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity" when technically HDMI 2.0 should be able to handle that .

I have installed and updated every drive I could find for both the monitor and the laptop.

Intel(R) HD Graphics

Hello George:

In order to look for the proper resolution for this problem, could you please confirm if the laptop you will see on the following link is the one you are using:

http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/p50/psptsa-00w006/specifications http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/p50/psptsa-00w006/specifications

Is this the monitor you have:

http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-34UC88 http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-34UC88

I can see here that you installed driver version 20.19.15.4360 for Intel® HD Graphics 5500, and I found a newer driver version 15.40.25.4463, so please try to install that driver and let me know if that worked:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=86210 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=86210

In addition, to be able to use that resolution you will need to use a display port, that is the one it supports 3840x2160@60Hz, if you use HDMI the following will be the max resolution: 2560x1600@60Hz

You can confirm that on the following link under graphics specifications:

http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz?q=Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i7-5500U%20Processor%20(4M%20Cache,%20up%20to%203.00%20GHz) http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz?q=Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i7-5500U%20Processor%20(4M%20Cache,%20up%20to%203.00%20GHz)

Alberto

Hello Alberto, thank you for the reply,

I can confirm those are both my laptop and monitor I am using, yes.

I have tried to upgrade it several times, but I keep getting an error message when trying to run the .exe getting the message

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.
Setup will exit"

Assuming this is a Toshiba thing..?

As for the specs for the max resolution, why would they have a hdmi HDMI (4k2k), if the processor is only limited to 2560x1600@60Hz? :S Unless I am missing something here.

thank you again.

Hello George:

Correct, in this case the best thing to do now will be to check with Toshiba directly:

Toshiba phone number: 1 800-457-7777

Toshiba site: http://support.toshiba.com/ http://support.toshiba.com/

Even though, for processor specifications, the resolution you wanted to use is not supported, it is always recommended to have a high quality HDMI cable, because that will improve the sound and video quality in your system.

You can also try to install the driver manually:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html

Alberto
