Hi, I have a DELL Vostro 15 3000 running Windows 10 x64 22H2 (build SO 19045.3393).

In the past I installed, among the optional updates, the Intel 31.0.101.4502 driver which was causing a big problem on my external monitor(HDMI) by no longer going to show so many resolutions(including the correct one) but stops at the standard ones: 1920x1080 , 1280x720 , 1024x768 and 800x600 while my monitor uses 3968x2976.
Resolved by uninstalling that update.

Months later, this update from optional went into the standard automatic updates, now that it has installed it for me I get the problem again and Windows won't let me uninstall it.

I cannot restore to an earlier time because this is a corporate PC and policies do not allow me to do so.

Please, fix it!

What is your processor model number?

If you have an 8th gen processor, then this is the latest driver for your graphics:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/776137/intel-7th-10th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]

Then your latest driver is located here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html?

Be careful with the install. Intel has decided to start bundling apps which you may not want with the driver install.

Personally, I would decline the CIP, and do a custom install with unchecking IDSA.

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]

Also, to stop older drivers from being installed, use the Microsoft wuShowHide tool (attached).

How? Install the driver you want. Then reboot. Then, immediately run the wuShowHide tool to block/hide any other graphic update.

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]

Hello, I have the same symptoms as above - check it very please.
Laptop on external monitors displayed 1440p without any problem - Lg 27gl850-B monitor and Lenovo D27q-30.
I worked like this for several months and there were no problems.
Since 14/09/2023 I can't select a higher resolution than 1920x1080 on the second monitor via HDMI.
Both monitors work fine under desktops as well.
The date agrees with the driver update (Intel Corporation - Display - 31.0.101.4502).
Restoring older versions of steronics does not help. The new ones don't see higher resolutions either.
Windows 11 Pro. DELL Inc.Vostro 15 3510 laptop. 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 processor.
Greetings and hope to fix the glitch.

Darek
