Is Intel Arc A380 compatible with AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3rd gen processors?
How about the hardware acceleration support, for example, in browsers, in Windows 11?
How about Linux support - Ubuntu 22.04? Does hardware acceleration work in Ubuntu for vp9 or av1 encode or decode or other similar codecs etc.?

Regarding the support for AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3rd gen processors, it is important to mention that Intel has only validated the AMD Ryzen™ 3000 series Processors (excludes AMD 3000G-series Processors), AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series Processors, and AMD Ryzen™ 7000 Series Processors as supported hardware configurations for Intel Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics. For further details about the system requirements for Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics, you should check the article "Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics – Desktop Quick Start Guide."

We can also confirm that the Intel® Arc™ A380 supports hardware acceleration in Windows 11, and you can use this function in the browsers that support it.

Finally, we are currently looking for more details about the support for hardware acceleration in Ubuntu. Allow us some time to look at this query, and we will be posting back as soon as we have more details.

Thank you for your patience. We would like to recommend you check the Intel Graphics Media Driver to support hardware decode, encoding, and video processing. (github.com). In the description, there is a very useful table describing which codecs/bit depth are supported by each GPU for HW acceleration. Each cell has an "E" for encode, "D" for decode, or "D/E" for decode and encode.
