Hello,

My display screen supports 1920 x 1920 with 60Hz only but after an update of the Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 on my i5-1235U PC, 1920 x 1920 resolution is not available. Worst, the driver forces the frequency at 75hz.

How can I fix this problem ? Is there an Intel Iris xe driver compatible with 1920 x 1920 60hz ?

A 1920x1920 monitor would be a square monitor, which I do not believe even exists. You more likely have a 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitor. We could verify if you provided the model number for your monitor.

Correct, my screen is a 33 inch square monitor with a native resolution 1:1 = 1920 x 1920.

The Intel Graphics Card Center confirms this capability that : 1920 x 1920 (60 Hz) but the driver don't propose me this resolution in the valid modes list. How to fix it ? How to configure 60 Hz by default ?

Is the last version of the Intel® Graphics Driver : 31.0.101.5382 can run 1920 x 1920 @60Hz ?

Ok, let's look at what EDID information is making it through. If you don't have a tool that can extract this information, Nirsoft offers a basic (and free) one, named MonitorInfoView, which you can download from here: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/monitorinfoview.zip.

Also, question, have you tried manually selecting the 60Hz frequency and then checking if the resolution you want appears?

I believe that The driver takes by default 1280 X 1024 75 Hz what it makes a black screen.

I can manually put 60 Hz but not choose 1920x1920. Iris Xe graphics allows me only some lower values (see screenshot).

I have tested the monitor with my old laptop with a HD graphics 520 and it works correctly in full screen. I can choose 1920x1920 60Hz. (see screenshot)

What do you think ? Is it a problem with Windows and the registry (edid or inf files) or with the Iris Xe graphics driver ?

Any idea to update the resolution modes list or fix this problem ?

Have you tried creating a profile manually using the Intel® Graphics Command Center (Beta) utility (manually download and install from the Microsoft App Store)???

After create a profile 1920x1920 @60Hz, I have the following message : A error has occurred / Something went wrong applying settings. Please try again.
After that, the monitor automatically switches on 1920x1080 @60Hz resolution.

I believe my EDID monitor is incorrect and I have only two solutions : update the monitor EDID by flashing its EEPROM or use a EDID emulator.
Do you agree ? Is there an other solution in Windows without hardware correction ?

Just out of curiosity, try setting up a profile that is 1920x1920, but only 30Hz.

After checking, the Monitor EDID is not correct. The manufacturer will send me a new controller board with an updated firmware.

Intel Iris Xe driver seems to be OK.
