Correct, my screen is a 33 inch square monitor. How to customize a resolution that is not proposed by the Intel driver ?

Hello,

My display screen supports 1920 x 1920 with 60Hz only but after an update of the Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 on my i5-1235U PC, 1920 x 1920 resolution is not available. Worst, the driver forces the frequency at 75hz.

How can I fix this problem ?

A 1920x1920 monitor would be a square monitor, which I do not believe even exists. You more likely have a 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitor. We could verify if you provided the model number for your monitor.

...S

Ok, let's look at what EDID information is making it through. If you don't have a tool that can extract this information, Nirsoft offers a basic (and free) one, named MonitorInfoView, which you can download from here: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/monitorinfoview.zip.

Also, question, have you tried manually selecting the 60Hz frequency and then checking if the resolution you want appears?

...S

Iris Xe graphics allows me only some lower values (see screenshot).

I have tested the monitor with my old laptop with a HD graphics 520 and it works correctly in full screen. I can choose 1920x1920 60Hz. (see screenshot)

What do you think ? Is it a problem with Windows and the registry (edid or inf files) or with the Iris Xe graphics driver ?

Any idea to update the resolution modes list or fix this problem ?

Thank you in advance,

After create a profile 1920x1920 @60Hz, I have the following message : A error has occurred / Something went wrong applying settings. Please try again.
After that, the monitor automatically switches on 1920x1080 @60Hz resolution.

I believe my EDID monitor is incorrect and I have only two solutions : update the monitor EDID by flashing its EEPROM or use a EDID emulator.
Do you agree ?

Hello there, Franckynn...

Let me try to help you...

It seems you're facing an issue where your display's native resolution of 1920 x 1920 at 60Hz is not available after updating to the Intel® Graphics Driver version 31.0.101.5333. Additionally, the driver is setting an incorrect refresh rate of 75Hz. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

1. Roll Back Driver: If the previous driver version was working correctly, you can roll back to that version through the Device Manager in Windows. Right-click on the 'Start' button, select 'Device Manager', go to 'Display adapters', right-click on your Intel graphics card, select 'Properties', go to the 'Driver' tab, and click on 'Roll Back Driver' if available.
2. Custom Resolution: You can try setting a custom resolution using the Intel Graphics Command Center or Intel Graphics Control Panel. This allows you to manually input the desired resolution and refresh rate.

3. Monitor EDID: Check the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) using a tool like Nirsoft's MonitorInfoView to ensure that your monitor's correct information is being communicated to the graphics driver.

Driver Update: Look for any newer versions of the driver that may have addressed this issue. You can check the Intel Download Center for the latest drivers.

Check Compatibility: Ensure that the Intel Iris Xe driver you are using is compatible with your specific monitor model.Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise with certain display models

I hope these suggestions help you restore the correct resolution and refresh rate for your display.

Cheers,

Max
