Is dwm suppose to be this high on integrated graphics?

I've tried updating drivers, disabling hardware accelerated graphics, doing a clean reinstall, and updating BIOS but nothing works.

Laptop: Hp pavilion gaming 16-a0032dx

I5-10300H: 31.0.101.2128
Gtx 1660 ti MQ: 32.0.15.5599

Bios: F.29

When did you first notice the usage of the DWM?
How long have you had your system?
Are you encountering any issues with your Graphics?

Good afternoon Caguicla,

Sorry for the delay I did not know anyone answered my question.

1. I've noticed this usage for couple months now but it might've been since i got this laptop.

2. I've had my system since july 2021.
3. A problem i have with my graphics is that task manager says my dedicated gpu is not being used but when i turn off hardware accelerated gpu scheduling, the dedicated gpu is used.

4. I have tried the manufacturer's drivers but I get the same resutls.

1. Are you currently experiencing any performance issues with your system?

2. NVIDIA Control Panel Settings: What selection have you made in the NVIDIA control panel? Is it set to prioritize the NVIDIA GPU, the Intel graphics, or is it configured to 'Auto'?

We have noted that your Task Manager indicates the dedicated GPU is not in use. However, when you disable the 'Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling' feature, the dedicated GPU becomes active.

To confirm, does this mean that your NVIDIA GPU is not being utilized unless you turn off the hardware accelerated GPU scheduling option?

Good afternoon Caguicla,

1. I've noticed my cpu goes to 100% in minecraft when loading chunks.

2. I have kept nvidia control panel on default settigns so it is set on auto.

My GPU is not utilized unless i turn hardware accelerated Gpu scheduling off.

Good evening Gaguicia,

I have tried setting gpu for my applications and every other game works except for two.
-Cpu goes to 100% when loading minecraft chunks.

-dwm integrated gpu usage goes to 20~50% on roblox.

1. Update the graphics driver to the latest version provided by HP and check the DWM performance.

2. Obtain the most recent System Support Utility (SSU) logs from the computer to allow for a comprehensive analysis of the system's configuration and the drivers currently in use.

3. Refer to the dwm.exe (Desktop Window Manager) Produces a Memory Leak with Drivers Newer Than 27.20.100.8587 article for additional guidance.

1. I tried drivers from hp with roblox and minecraft the results are still the same. One thing with drivers from hp is that they are outdaded.

2.SSU logs is attached below as system info

3. I've tried new intel drivers but that doesn't fix it

Upon reviewing the screenshot provided, it appears that the system usage falls within the expected parameters, as the Nvidia graphics card is actively being utilized rather than the Intel-integrated graphics. For additional diagnostic measures, it may be beneficial to check the following articles for further guidance:

Moreover, we also recommend that you use the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT) to ascertain the optimal performance of the processor. And also, we would like to ask if you tried seeking assistance from HP concerning this matter and if you are also facing a stuttering issue when playing a game.

Furthermore, regarding the GPU scheduling feature, it is important to note that the Intel graphics and latest drivers currently do not support this feature. Reference: Is Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling Supported by Intel® Graphics?

We would like to inform you that the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) is a system process in Windows that manages visual effects and rendering of the user interface. It typically doesn't consume too many resources, but if you're experiencing high usage, it could be due to several factors:

1. Corrupted or Outdated Graphics Drivers.

2. Malware: DWM can become corrupted or damaged by malware, so a virus scan is recommended.

Good afternoon Gaguicia,

I did the IPDT tool and it said everything is fine. Also scanned for malware , updated drivers, and restored HDR to default but its still the same. I have not tried contacting HP about it. I honestly think its the BIOS i have but I cant downgrade it since hp wont let me. Is there any way I can downgrade the BIOS?
