Hello community,

I have an Acer laptop with the following basic configuration:

1. Intel Core i9 14900HX (Intel UHD - Driver version of OEM: 31.0.101.5081)

2. Nvidia RTX 4060 ( Driver Version: 32.0.15.6081 )

3. Window 11 Pro

The device is equipped with 2 thunderbolt ports 4. I use 2 external monitors from LG of the same model, same year of manufacture and both monitors support 165Hz setting with RGB Color Format, Displayport 1.2 connection port. When I connect these 2 monitors to the laptop via USB C to Displayport cable, the problem occurs:

- Setting 165hz on both monitors is OK

- 1 monitor can change Color Format (RGB, YCBCr422, YCBCr444)

- The remaining monitor only has YCBCr422 color mode

I have tried reinstalling the Intel UHD and Nvidia drivers but both did not solve the above problem. The current solution to use both screens in 165Hz mode, RGB Color format is to turn off UHD graphics, only use Nvidia and have to plug in each screen in turn when the laptop boots up. If you restart the computer, you have to do this again. It's inconvenient and you don't have to take the computer to the warranty service for the Thunderbolt port and plug it in and out too many times. Is anyone else like me?

This is a strange problem.

1920 x 1080 @ 165 Hz RGB 8-bit = 12.1 Gbps

Bandwidth is definitely not the problem here. The screens are apparently driven by the Nvidia GPU since you can configure them in the Nvidia Control Panel.

I would recommend checking all Intel drivers at ACER and updating them to the versions recommended there.

If that doesn't help, it's probably advisable to contact ACER support, as only the manufacturer knows exactly how Intel components are technically integrated into a laptop.

Hello MUC,

Thanks for the quick response

I also tried reinstalling the driver according to Acer's driver, the problem also could not be fixed. There is a strange thing if I lower the scan frequency from 165hz -> 144Hz on the screen with YCBCr422, Windows will automatically adjust YCBCr422 to RGB

Hello,

After struggling with this computer for a while I was able to solve the problem of using 2 separate monitors via Thunderbolt port. Today I decided to buy 2 new monitors with the following specifications: 1920x1080 180Hz/Displayport 1.4/ Gsync Support. When I plugged these 2 monitors into the computer all the parameters worked as required: 1920x1080 180Hz, RGB Color Format and did not generate any of the strange errors that I described from the beginning. It seems that the Displayport 1.2 port and AMD Freesync on the old monitor are causing trouble for this Laptop causing display errors. I am sharing the solution again so that those of you who intend to use 2 separate monitors can invest in buying the right monitor to achieve efficiency.
