Intel UHD Graphics doesn't recognize 2560×1440 resolution

Hi, I have an ASUS ExpertBook B1502CVA, with an Intel UHD Graphics, but when I connect a Philips Monitor with 2560x1440 resolution, it is not recognized and the maximum i can select is 1920x1080.

I use a direct HDMI cable, supplied by the monitor, so I assume it supports the maximum resolution.

Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the HDMI port of this device caused by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ASUS:

Instead, please use the USB Type-C port to establish a connection between the laptop and monitor via the DisplayPort protocol.

The display engine of the graphics integrated in the Raptor Lake processor complies with HDMI 2.0b. Since Intel processors are integrated into (laptop) motherboards and certain form factors, OEMs like ASUS also have to select many other electronic components that ultimately determine what is available to a customer at the physical connector of the finished device.

The HDMI specification in version 1.4 basically provides for 4K @ 30 Hz with a data transfer rate of 9 Gbps. But that is far from the only feature. Electrical parameters are also crucial for a specific version of an interface technology. For some reason, ASUS decided to stop at 1080p @ 60 Hz (2.23 Gbps) on this device. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is.
