I have a 13600K CPU and an AOC 27G2G4 panel (with DP cable). I am using an old Intel graphics driver (with code 6078). When I update this driver, adaptive sync support is lost. Is this a driver error? Or does Intel not provide this support?

There have been some reports lately that new Intel drivers lose the AdaptiveSync capability when used with AOC monitors.

To me, this looks like an interoperability issue that has something to do with how the AOC monitors advertise VESA AdaptiveSync via the DisplayPort Auxiliary channel (DP AUX).

Please create a Report for Intel Graphics Drivers and attach the output file here.

AMD FreeSync and VESA AdaptiveSync use different messages over DP AUX. Please make sure that AdaptiveSync is explicitly activated on the monitor. You can read how to do this here from page 21.

I can confirm that the Adaptive-Sync feature MUST BE OFF for my AOC monitor (24P2Q) or otherwise the monitor will display "Input Not Support" when connecting DP (intel UHD 770). It's very troublesome as I need to connect back this monitor to the previous PC (Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600) which can support this AS feature, and then turned off this feature, power off the monitor and then reconnect this monitor the new PC...sigh.
