Switched from a RTX 3050 to an Intel ARC B580 (Sparkle edition)

Preformed a clean install using the DDU and also Revo Uninstaller to make sure all previous Graphics and any HDMI created audio devices from the Nivida card had been removed.

ran from safe mode as outlined in DDU and also confirmed removals with Revo-

I have noticed an increase in resources needed for video processing in an SDR radio application called "Thetis" I have noticed a very consistent dropout of audio as well (popping and complete drops) that never happened previously

I have used LatencyMON to confirm these dropouts are being introduced from the Graphics card driver.

Overall System resources are also higher with the card as in comparison of previous as well.

Have tried various settings in the Grahics control application with no real improvements.

Also have disabled the Intel HDMI devices in device manager in hopes it may help. which also doesn't seem to have made much if any difference. Since I direct the audio output to the internal soundcard and speakers not the HDMI audio options

Hoping an updated driver forth coming will mitigate or resolve the issues,

SDR applications are very depending on having a LOW Overall system resource usage in order to remove any audio artifacts, stuttering, drops outs etc.

Current graphics driver is: 32.0.101.6252 12/10/24

Curious if anyone else has noticed SOUND issues in popping or dropping out since they have installed an ARC graphics card. or an increase in system resources.

Thanks

Hello Sir thanks for the reply

I gave up I was having serious audio dropouts and increased WMI with the B580 and present drivers

I switched GPU vendors as it was really bad with audio issues, sorry I was really wanting to give the new ARC a try and chance- but I had to move on

Best of luck to Team Blue as competition does us all good!

I have the same issue when playing more demanding games (eg. while Battlefield 2042 is loading, if there's a video playing in the background, the audio stutters a lot) which didn't happen with the Nvidia card. Switched from an NVidia 1660 Super to a B580. Uninstalled previous drivers in safe mode before installing the card and the latest Intel driver.

I think this might have something to do with DirectX 12, as one of the games I play just switched from DX11 to 12 and that started heavily stuttering in audio for me. (Game: Squad)

I have the following (all latest drivers):

Motherboard: ASRock H610M-H2/M.2 D5
RAM: 32GB
CPU: 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13400F

Looks to me like you've crippled the B580 by changing slots. On your board (ASUS TUF-B760) only the top slot is able to operate at the speeds that the B580 can operate at (456 GB/s). Your secondary slot is about half as fast, so this might be a good workaround **IF** you don't notice the drop.

I have a solution! Credit to a random person on Reddit.

Go into BIOS, and force your PCIe slot to operate as Gen3. (instead of "Auto" in my case)

It'll start using much less resources, and it stopped the audio stutter for me! It also fixed a number of performance issues I had in games!
