Hi, this is my first post but I don't know where else to turn.

The past few days when I play my Sims 3 game in buy or build mode, my laptop driver crashes saying "intel graphics media accelerater stopped responding but has recovered".

Up until yesterday, I was playing Sims 3 flawlessly with no issues what so ever. It does not seem to be a heating issue. I tried re-updating my current drivers for Toshiba, but to no avail.

When going to the intel update site I get this message: "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer".

Should I uninstall the Toshiba driver and install the Intel version? Intel's is more updated.

My system info is as follows:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600

Other OS Description Not Available

OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation

System Name ASHLEY-PC

System Manufacturer TOSHIBA

System Model Satellite L655

System Type x64-based PC

Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU P6200 @ 2.13GHz, 2133 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

BIOS Version/Date INSYDE 1.70, 9/15/2010

SMBIOS Version 2.6

Windows Directory C:\windows

System Directory C:\windows\system32

Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1

Locale United States

Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7600.16385"

User Name Ashley-PC\Ashley

Time Zone Eastern Standard Time

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB

Total Physical Memory 3.80 GB

Available Physical Memory 2.47 GB

Total Virtual Memory 7.60 GB

Available Virtual Memory 6.12 GB

Page File Space 3.80 GB

Page File C:\pagefile.sys

If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If this happen only in game ,then try to uninstall the game and install other game ,let the game hit the machine for more than 12 hr see how the machine behave ,generally in my concern windows 7 is not stable for gamming purpose ,speacially home premium , i have too in my laptop, some cause problem like hang out etc but other things work well. if the game run smooth then its some file missing in game nothing in driver ,if not than install the driver as per the mother board required or reboot the machine by the RECOVERY CD/DVD ,if you need .
