265k integrated gpu quicksync performance very low when xmp is turned on

specs:

msi pro z890 a w/ latest bios ( 7E32v2A73 )

core ultra 7 265k , gpu driver 32.0.101.6790

teamgroup CTCWD596G6400HC32ADC01 48gb*2 xmp 6400mt/s

windows 11 24h2

when encoding 1920x1080@60fps streams with quicksync, obs studio keeps complaining`encoding overloaded` and the resulting video is very laggy.

lower the framerate to 30 fixes the laggy stream, but it still shows a 80% abnormally high video decode load.. (btw why it is named video decode.. this is a encoding task anyway)

so the hardware seems to be functioning pretty correctly with xmp on, its just a massive performance drop.

turn off xmp seems could completely fix the issue. see the tests very below for details.

this pc build has been running heavily for months at 6400mt/s and i havent noticed any ram instability. i do have an nvidia card as the primary gpu though so i actually didnt use the igpu video engine much before.

also it might be worth reading this thread.. it looks just the same but its closed for no reason..

same issue under opensuse tumbleweed.. (i think the 50% there probably means a sum up of the two video engines so its still a 100% load.. )

Same problem with MSI Pro Z890-A WiFi, even watching 4K videos on Youtube will overload the hardware video decoder and result in very heavy stuttering. The only workaround is to disable XMP (6400 MT -> 5600 MT). Please fix.

update: found a workaround here. ive been running this pc with xmp on and soc sa = 0.9volts for around a week now and it seems stable so far..

still quite annoying as the default`auto` voltage should (must) just work fine.. and theres no way to monitor the soc sa voltage so we cant know what the `auto` actually is.. that means the 0.9volts is actually just set by a guess.. this needs a fix.
