I'm not really seeking technical support for this product, it is more of a pre-sales information that i need. The published specs are too vague to make an informed purchasing decision. We have not yet purchased these cards. I was hoping to get the necessary information here.

What is the successor to the Intel Data Center GPU Flex Series? I was surprised to see that there is not yet a Intel Flex product based on Xe2.

We need to transcode video streams (primarily 30fps 720p and 1080p AV1) in the backend and are looking at Intel Flex cards to get the highest number of streams as possible per card.

The Intel Flex 170 cards have one DG2-512 (ACM-G10) chip and

the Intel Flex 140 cards have two DG2-128 (ACM-G11) chips.

How do they compare in terms of video decoding and encoding performance for our usecase?

Where can i find detailed technical documentation?

The product pages at

https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/products/sku/230019/intel-data-center-gpu-flex-170/specifications.html?wapkw=intel%20flex

and
https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/products/sku/230020/intel-data-center-gpu-flex-140/specifications.html?wapkw=intel%20flex

do not provide enough details. They just say "yes" for AV1 encoding.

I've read some articles on the web mentioning 30+ parallel streams for Intel Flex cards but i want to get the hard numbers directly from Intel.

I'm interested in the capabilities video decoder/encoders on the cards. The server has not yet been decided upon. I will pick the server so it isn't the bottleneck. The idea is to put several of the Intel Data Center GPU Flex cards (5+) into one server to maximize the number of video streams that can be transcoded per server.

Hi svenz,

Thank you for your response.

We would like to inform you that the Intel® Data Center GPU Flex Series has reached its End of Interactive Support (EOIS) as of December 27, 2024. As a result, Intel no longer provides direct technical assistance for this product. However, you may still seek help from other users through community forums.

Additionally, since you were inquiring about the video decoder/encoder capabilities of the cards, we suggest reaching out to your place of purchase for more detailed information.

As this product falls outside our support boundaries, we will proceed to close this request.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Sreelakshmi

Intel Customer Support Technician

Hi svenz,

We understand your concern. Unfortunately, as the product reached its End of Interactive Support (EOIS) on December 27, 2024, Intel no longer provides direct technical assistance or product information for this product.

Additionally, we do not have any information to comment on a successor to the Intel Data Center GPU Flex Series.

Since you are seeking information to support a potential purchase decision, we recommend reaching out to an Intel Authorized Distributor. They are best equipped to provide up-to-date product details and guidance tailored to your requirements.

Please refer to the below link for reference.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/partner/showcase/partner-directory/distributor.html#sort=relevancy

Thank you for understanding.

Best Regards,

Sreelakshmi

Intel Customer Support Technician

I lack the understanding how Intel is no longer able to provide information about a "data center" product that was brought to market in 2022 without a successor.

What I do begin to understand is why Intel is struggling in the marketplace.
