Arc Pro B50 now supports SR-IOV, and VF can be implemented on Linux (kernel >= 6.18).

What about the SR-IOV on Windows Server?

1. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) , remote streaming, and video transcoding.

2. Windows Server 2025 (with Admin Center installed)

3. Current platforms all still run on Windows, while migrating to Linux is totally a big cost.

My test on Linux SR-IOV confirms the latest Xe driver has the host feature to define VFs via command lines, and Windows Guest drivers (the common Arc Pro driver) also work well with the VFs.

If the Intel Arc Pro B-series solution can work well with Windows Server, I will choose more Intel B50 or B60 cards.

Now we continue relying on NVIDIA's cards, cause they've already provided a comprehensive support and docs on Windows Server with Ampere, Ada lovelace and Blackwell architecture based cards.

4. Guest VMs run ffmepg for video transcoding, and Windows OS are used for 3D workloads.

5. Hope to see a certain routemap for the SR-IOV support on Windows Server, including drivers, management tools, and docs.
