Not able to display 3440x2160 2:9

Hi,

The PC has an i7-14700 CPU

Onboard Graphics

The monitor is a Dell 34 Plus USB-C Monitor S3425DW

The motherboard is an Asus B769m-A D4 Wifi

We have updated all drivers including from Intel and motherboard

Update all Dell drivers for the monitor and the BIOS

We have installed the Intel Graphics Command Centre with no change

We have even changed the cable

The monitor only has USB C and HDMI

The motherboard has DP and HDMI

Any help would be apprecaited

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

I would advise you to connect these devices using the DisplayPort protocol. It's quite possible that the motherboard's DisplayPort only supports HBR2. However, that's not a problem, because 3440 x 1440 @ 120 Hz RGB 8-bit (666.12 MHz pixel clock) = 93% HBR2.

Please use one of these bidirectional cables:

Plug the end with the DisplayPort connector into the motherboard and the USB Type-C end into the monitor.

I found it on the UK site but it takes a while to get here and does not have great reviews. 3.6 I think

Just an update for you.

So, we purchased that cable and intially it appeared to solve the problem

However, we then noticed when using the computer that the screen would black out for a second and come on again whilst I was typing. This happened several times

Eventually, the screen blacked out and woudl not come on again at all

I am away at the moment and my wife has reported this

I have asked her whether the monitor signal light changes

I am not sure of the cause of this

In my opinion, there's nothing else you need to consider. If you can still see something, try lowering the refresh rate. According to the user manual, the monitor should support 100 Hz and 60 Hz (at 3440 x 1440) in addition to 120 Hz. Settings > System > Display, then click Advanced display, and use the dropdown menu next to "Choose a refresh rate".
