Hello,

I have setup a test PC using Win XP, Vista, and Win7 (all 32bit editions) on a new Gigabyte motherboard (GA-H55M-UD2H) using an Intel Core i3 with integrated graphics (HD Graphics). Testing all available drivers (including the latest WinVista7_15171) I cannot get OpenGL to run under Vista or Windows 7. XP is fine but under Vista/Win7 I only get the default Microsoft "GDI Generic" implementation. The driver installation shows no problems and DirectX seems to be ok.

I updated the motherboard BIOS, installed, re-installed drivers etc. but with no luck so far.

Any infos/tips/hacks on this issue would be helpful ?

--- Output from dxdiag.exe ---

------------------

System Information

------------------

Time of this report: 3/19/2010, 13:12:20

       Machine name: HWTEST-01

   Operating System: Windows Vista™ Enterprise (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840)

           Language: English (Regional Setting: English)

System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

       System Model: H55M-UD2H

               BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG

          Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.9GHz

             Memory: 3450MB RAM

Page File: 717MB used, 6370MB available

        Windows Dir: C:\Windows

    DirectX Version: DirectX 10

DX Setup Parameters: Not found

     DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode

---------------

Display Devices

---------------

Card name: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD

     Manufacturer: Intel Corporation

Chip type: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD (Core i3)

         DAC type: Internal

       Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_D0001458&REV_12

   Display Memory: 1533 MB

Dedicated Memory: 64 MB

    Shared Memory: 1469 MB

     Current Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)

          Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor

      Driver Name: igdumdx32.dll,igd10umd32.dll

   Driver Version: 8.15.0010.2057 (English)

      DDI Version: 10

Driver Attributes: Final Retail

Driver Date/Size: 1/25/2010 10:35:44, 550912 bytes

      WHQL Logo'd: n/a

  WHQL Date Stamp: n/a

Device Identifier: {D7B78E66-4302-11CF-E17F-0AF0B2C2C535}

        Vendor ID: 0x8086

        Device ID: 0x0042

        SubSys ID: 0xD0001458

      Revision ID: 0x0012

      Revision ID: 0x0012

I am having a similar problem, although I am certain I have open gl enabled on mine,

my problem is some of my applications are not picking up on the open gl abilities.

I run glviewer for verification of open gl and all was fine, infact better than my old geforce 9300 card!

So maybe this is the problem with yours?

google glviewer and it is free and will help you I think. Look for realtech-vr .com

If you have solved your probelm maybe you could help with mine by explaining how, or if you have come to some conclusion that might help me.

I am seriously considering a new card but tthat is not easy as i have the new acer z5700 which is not old and not much info on it at mo but do know some ati cards work just dont know what ones, lol.

I thhtink that some applications will only pick it up if open gl exists on a seprate card not integrated like ours, but games and fully rendered 3D will be OK.

Hope this helps a bit, I see you have been posting help for this all over but got none so far.

Tom

PS: latest driver is: 8.15.10.2022,

also I am running 64 bit windows 7

T

Hi THomas,

I don`t think that your problem is the same as mine.

I have solved the problem on my machine:

I had previously installed an ATI card. The ati-dlls in WINDOWS\system32 are loaded by the Intel desktop driver (bug, since this is only needed for the notebooks with hybrid / switchable graphics).

Solution: Deinstall the ATI driver and make sure to delete all ati*.dll in system32.
