Why is Intel DSA showing two different graphics drivers? (Arc vs. 11th-14th Gen)

Hey everyone, I'm using an MSI Thin GF63 12HW and I'm a bit confused by the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. It’s prompting me to install two separate graphics updates:

Intel Arc Graphics - Windows
Intel 11th - 14th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows

Won't these two drivers clash if I try to install both? Specifically, if I choose a "Clean Installation" for one, will it wipe out the other?

My laptop has an Alder Lake CPU (12th Gen) and an Intel Arc dedicated GPU. Should I be installing both of these, or is one intended to override the other? Any advice on the proper installation order would be greatly appreciated!

Your concerns are very valid and correct.

Yes, you should install both, but install the 11th-14th driver first (and you can do a clean install if you want).

Then, install the arc driver, but do not do a clean install.

Personally, I install the 11th-14th gen from this link (thus avoiding IDSA and its problems):

Then, I install the arc driver from this link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-graphics-windows.html

This works correctly on my 12th gen nuc.

It is a pity that Intel graphic driver developers handled this so poorly.

Also while we are here can you like tell me how i can disable windows auto graphics update i tried eveything but it keeps rolling back to older version of GPU drivers

To stop windows update overwriting your driver, download the microsoft wuShowHide tool and save it.

Then, after updating to the driver of your choice, run the wuShowHide tool and block/hide the microsoft update that you do not want.

This works for most users, but may not work for all.
