I am writing to request technical clarification regarding the relationship between the Intel Graphics Software application and the Intel Graphics Command Center application. I have two specific questions regarding their impact:

1) Impact of uninstalling Intel Graphics Software while keeping the Intel Graphics Command Center. If I were to uninstall the Intel Graphics Software but leave the Intel Graphics Command Center installed on my system, what would be the impact on my hardware, system stability, and available features? Specifically, will the hardware still function optimally, or will the Command Center lose its ability to manage display settings?

2) Impact of keeping both applications simultaneously. If I choose to keep both "Intel Graphics Software" and "Intel Graphics Command Center" installed, what is the impact on system performance and resource management? Is there any redundancy between the two, or are they designed to work in tandem for full functionality?

Thank You

Hello Milad1,

Both Intel Graphics Software (IGS) and Intel Graphics Command Center (IGCC) provide user interfaces for Intel graphics configuration. IGS and IGCC can be installed alongside graphics drivers, but IGCC can be installed standalone via Microsoft Store.

To answer your questions: #1: There are unique features in each that aren't available in the other. You may want to check comparison here (Intel® Graphics Software - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ))

#2: IGCC is the legacy application being replaced by IGS. While both serve similar purposes, IGS focuses on core driver management and updates, system-level graphics configuration and hardware diagnostics and monitoring, while IGCC specializes in gaming optimization and profiles, advanced display calibration, content creation features and user-friendly interface for enthusiasts.

However, IGCC is being phased out. Users can run both simultaneously, but Intel recommends transitioning to IGS for future support and features.

Feel free to follow up with any other concerns.

Best regards,
