Driver support for the Intel Arc A750 on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for information about driver support for the Intel Arc A750 on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

As far as I can tell, official Intel Arc driver packages have mainly targeted older Ubuntu releases like 22.04 LTS and I have also installed it on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. I haven’t found any clear details yet about support for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. I could not find any way to install Intel Arc graphics driver on my Ubuntu 26.04 LTS machine.

Does anyone know if there’s an expected timeline for Intel Arc A750 driver availability on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS? Will it be supported out of the box with newer kernels, or will we need separate driver packages or PPAs?

Any updates, roadmap info, or personal experience would be appreciated.

I followed the everything describe in this article https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091844/graphics.html for Ubuntu 25.10 and 24.04. But Unfortunately It didn't work. Here is my terminal output on my machine Ubuntu 26.04

I have a fresh installed system with Ubuntu. I got a different output than the one you show above, and following the instructions it actually installs some packages.

Are you using a vanilla version of Ubuntu?

Also, based on the documentation you already consulted (at dgpu-docs.intel.com), A750 is supported starting with kernel 6.2, and the card should work out-of-the-box with any newer kernel.

Are you using the card for some specific use case and it is not performing well or as expected?

Edit: I noticed it is running Ubuntu 25.10. Let me update and check again.
Edit: As per Ubuntu documentation, "if you’re using a Long Term Support (LTS) release like most of Ubuntu users, the latest version that you can upgrade to is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Upgrades to the latest LTS release become available after the first point release, such as with Ubuntu 24.04.01. This usually happens several months after the initial release."
This means 26.04 won't be automatically offered just now. This release was made available for download on April, 23rd.

Hello again @SphinxGaze After forcing the upgrade to 26.04, I see the same error when running the command with "kobuk".

Let me check back with the team behind this drivers. Just take note that we don't provide information of unreleased products. For this specific case, I won't be able to provide an ETA for the packages to be available.

If it is not critical, I'd recommend to roll back to 25.10 where you can run the commands found in dgpu-docs.intel without any issue, until the documentation is updated and these are also usable in 26.04 LTS.

Once they are available I will let you know here so you can try again the installation. In the meantime, I'd appreciate your patience.

But I have managed to installed intel-media-va-driver-non-free. That's all I need for now. It's already in the Ubuntu 26.04 repository.

I didn't have to add package repository form this command line.

After Installing intel-media-va-driver-non-free, my problem solved as I wanted to get OBS studio to have native Arc A750 video encoder support (FFmpeg VAAPI H.264). I got it after installation of media va driver.

Beside I want to note that some of the packages is not present in the Ubuntu 26.04 repository as advised to install by this link https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/driver/client/overview.html

I got confirmation that Ubuntu 26.04 has in-box support for A750 – you don't have to install anything from any of our custom repositories (the ones in the dgpu-docs.intel instructions).

The custom packages on dgpu-docs.intel are mainly for users who want to try early versions of the latest packages before they are available through the distro. They can also help in cases where someone needs newer or early hardware support that is not yet available in the inbox/distro stack.

If you want to try early version of latest packages you can use testing PPA repository instead - https://launchpad.net/~kobuk-team/+archive/ubuntu/intel-graphics-testing - as we recently published 26.04 packages there.

These packages are not published yet in the other repository, hence the error.

I'm also glad you have solved your issue with OBS.
