While trying further to figure out what was going on - I stumbled upon: "xpu-smi config" which displays a "PCIe Gen4 Downgrade" option - which was enabled. I disabled this option - and PCIe Gen5 is back!

Hope this helps someone!

I have a pair of B70s - one of which negotiates PCIe @ Gen5 x16, the other of which negotiates PCIe @ Gen4 x16. This happens if I switch slots on either of two different motherboards from two different manufacturers. (All four combinations - motherboards involved are Asus WS WRX90E-SAGE SE and Gigabyte AI TOP.). The Gen4 negotiation follows the physical card - not the slot(s) involved.

Given one other post expressing a similar problem with the B70, at this point is this a known problem?

Do I need to contact warranty support - and exchange the apparently defective card - or is this something that will be fixed with a firmware upgrade?

Thanks.
