Latest 4600 HD for windows 10 installer not working

I downloaded latest driver from intel website under this link https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25150 Intel® Download Center for my asus G551 but i'm having problem with the installer. When I click setup with or without admin permission, I get this.

With this latest driver I hope it can solve my fn+f5 & f6 (screen brightness) but it seems that I can't even install it on my laptop.

On top of that, I do have any brightness slider either at personalize screen or power option screen.

Can anyone help me with this?

You can always try to install the driver with a have disk method - I've seen that Intel support out here made a simple how-to for that method

Thanks for your feedback. But I can't even download the driver. It give me Error 404. Neither exe nor zip.

The drivers seem to be available now. I was able to successfully download it.

Additionally, you may try the computer manufacturer drivers from their website http://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/714/0/2/SOWE1eRbVetG02i5/41/ http://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/714/0/2/SOWE1eRbVetG02i5/41/

I have downloaded the latest driver (15.40.7.64.4279) and when I install it give me this error.

and unfortunately, my manufacturer website still not update their website.

and when i check on device manager, it still show old version 10.18.15.4256.

This brightness control issue is such a pain in the hump ever since this windows launch. Hope we can go somewhere from this.

On the 2nd screenshot - use update driver option

And there on the wizard use a have disk method and install a driver

It will work if You have a 64bit Win10 version

And You have to download a .zip file and extract it first

Unfortunately it won't work.

Let me share you what i have done and the outcome.

1. update driver --> auto search for update

Result:

2. update driver --> browse my computer --> point to the latest driver directory

Result: Same result as # 1.

3. update driver --> browse my computer --> let me pick ..

The list limited to version 10.xx only which is don't make any sense.

Kindly help me with this.

Yes, i tried this, and it will update to the latest version which I learnt that in 15.40.7.64.4279 the graphic driver would be 10.18.14.4279. Gosh the version numbering quite confusing. And nope. Even with latest driver, I still cant adjust screen brightness with fn or any other place.

In this particular case, please try using the Laptop manufacturer's tool (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/Splendid/Splendid_Upgrade_Win10_VER3130004.zip ASUS* Splendid (For Windows 10 Upgrade)) It handles screen brightness and resolution (and some gamma correction) very well.

Asus splendid did not work out for me either.

For your information, I already used the latest version for each and every possible hardware like you mentioned but still did not work out.

ATK Package: 1.0.0040

Smart gesture: 4.05

Intel graphic driver: 10.18.15.4279

Nvidia graphic driver: 358.50

What else can I do to solve this brightness control issue?

Intel® graphics drivers provided at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Intel® Download Center are generic versions and can be used for general purposes. However, computer original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to the software or software packaging they provide. To avoid any potential installation incompatibilities on your OEM system, Intel recommends that you check with your OEM and use the software provided by your system manufacturer. Intel and the computer original equipment manufacturer (OEM) may not provide technical support for some or all issues that could arise from the usage of this generic version of software drivers.

In this particular situation I suggest contacting the computer manufacturer and confirm with them how to solve the brightness control issue.
