Custom Resolution on Intel HD 4600

I recently bought a Dell XPS 27" All In One machine. I have a second 27" monitor hooked up via HDMI (the only output this PC has), and I cannot for the life of me get it to display at 2560x1440. I know that this is supposedly a limitation of HDMI, but I have 4 other Dell 27" AIO machines running them over HDMI. What I had to do was set a custom resolution of 2560x1440 29MHZ and all works great. The 4 machines that are currently working use the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver and have the option for a custom resolution. Is there any way I can get this to work on the 4600?

Go into the drivers folder, there is a file called CustomModeApp.exe. You can change the resolution there.

I wanted to add for those looking for more specifics: CustomModeApp.exe is in the 'Graphics' folder of the latest Intel video drivers. It also gets placed in C:\Windows\System32 when the driver is installed.

Hey guys,

I created a custom resolution with the same program as listed above but how do I select the custom resolution to show up? I just created a custom resolution but I can't find the option to enable it. How do I do this? Thanks in advance!

Sorry for my late response Esteban,

But I think it's just not possible to enable custom resolutions on my computer. BTW I have a macbook pro with bootcamp so may be that's the issue. And I read your thread and they didn't tell how to enable the custom resolution. As noted above, I can create one but I don't see an option to apply it. How can I apply it? Does somebody else know?

Here you can find the generic drivers from Intel®, but I cannot assure you that they are going to work properly while using them in an Apple device.
