Hello,

I have a HP Pavillion dv6450us notebook, with Intel 945GM chipset and a Intel T5300 Core 2 Duo Processor (64-bit).

My doubt is: the documentation of the chipset says that it supports up to 4GB of RAM, which I can address with a 64-bit processor (or at least 3.~GB with 32 bit OS), but, HP says this model can only support 2GB, I contacted them, but if you have any question more complex than a driver update, they're just useless..., so I decided to come to the hardware source.

Can system RAM possibly be limited by BIOS or something, and if so, how could I change it?

Never mind

Just tested it with 2x2GB mem sticks of a friend of mine.

Works like a charm...

Damn HP, misinformed and misinforming

Thanks anyway!
