Hi nkef

The table you reference does not include Windows 10 because it is not yet a released product. One Windows 10 launches the table will be updated to include it.

Drivers for Intel HD 3000 will be in-box divers that will be included in the Windows 10 distribution media.

Intel HD 3000 supports only WDDM 1.2 features. It is not capable of supporting WDDM 2.0.

Thanks

Robert

Nice, it is good news to hear that Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Sandy Bridge) will be supported officially in Windows 10.

The table "Intel® Core™ Processors" in "http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems" has a "Windows 10*" column that reports that there is "No" support for Windows 10 for Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandy Bridge). Should it be updated?

Thanks,

nkef

So why Asus ask me to update my laptop if they know that some hardwares will not be compatible ?

Sandy Bridge aka Intel HD Graphics 3000 works and drivers are available on Windows Update : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25027/Intel-Iris-Iris-Pro-and-HD-Graphics-Beta-Driver-for-Windows-10 Intel® Download Center

The only problem is that this driver use WDDM 1.2 and not 2.0 like the second NVIDIA graphic card driver, this difference make this two drivers incompatible.

@allan_intel I already know about this link but this page has been updated the 06-Jan-2015, in other words 6 months before the launch of Windows 10 final version, and why there is beta drivers if they don't support it ???

I found a temporary solution, it seems that HDMI output is not affected by the bug because it only use the NVIDIA card, so I switch my primary screen to the HDMI one perhaps it works with DVI output but I can't test it at this time.

Hello allan_intel,

I've been reading several sources/claiming that Intel has cut support, and your post totally confirms it.

My question to you is: Why create a BETA driver for Windows 10 and then officially not support it anymore?

My computer is running Windows 10, and is currently running Intel(R) HD 3000 Graphics. I am not pleased at all with this announcement. The reason for which I am in this topic is because an Intel rep linked me here via social media and told me to stay updated.

By "please stay updated" I am guessing this means that something might be done? I've been a loyal customer to Intel products, but I am not pleased at the moment with the way the situation with said graphics is being handled.

There's many complaining about this, so please, make your customers happy and provide official support. Games are totally unplayable on current BETA drivers that you left us with.. and that's not right.

Best,

Hey i work in a computer shop and I've now had 2 laptops with HD3000 graphics come in with black screens at startup. If you hook up an external display it will work and you can operate the PC normally but it will not display on the main laptop screen. The only way I've found to fix this is to either disable the HD3000 graphics in device manager which is undesirable because you can't display in proper resolution for the panel. Or to wait for the PC to startup and login then put the laptop to sleep and wake it up, after that the internal display works until you reboot again. I'm using the prepackaged driver that came with windows 10 i don't have the version number on my right now but i'm sure it was the latest one available for this chip. This is a pretty glaring bug and i know officially there is no support according to the link you provided but can you tell me whether or not intel will be fixing this? Or at the very least acknowledge it?

Hello,

We're all aware that that's all you know at the moment, but that still doesn't answer our inquiry. It's been said here that Intel has released beta drivers for 2nd generation graphics such as HD 3000/2000 family series.

I am currently using Windows 10 on an Intel(R) HD 3000 Graphics, everything works GREAT on it EXCEPT gaming. Now I see others here are having different problems from me, and that may be due to hardware, but we're all in the same boat.

We believe this hardware can be supported by Intel, and we believe that those drivers can be updated to a STABLE release. You left us with BETA drivers, which is the whole reason why a lot of here are having problems.

I love Intel, but I don't love that you're leaving us in the dark here, as customers we deserve to know if something will be done about this. We can provide DXDiag information, anything feedback necessary for the development of this driver update if it were to happen, but we all need to be on the same page here.

Best,

I have the same problem with my laptop, the driver fails and I'm stuck with windows generic driver 1024x768.

How can you develop a failing BETA driver, and stop supporting it. I'm sure it's a small issue for you, and you know exactly what the problem is, so please Intel, you must act on this.

regards

Hey Here is what has worked for me on two Dell Laptops both with 3000 graphics and Windows 10. I updated the bios with the latest from Dell. I could restart and it would got through the boot up process but the screen would go black or blank right before login and I would put in stand by then wake up and would work. Tried every driver I could find from Dell and Intel for the chip then updated the BIOS and worked like a charm. One was a Dell N5050 with a B950 and the other an Inspiron with a I3-2310m. So far so good might wanna try I ran into this thread looking for an answer thought I would try to share some info. Good Luck.

allan_intel all your response seems to be doing is brushing people off and ignoring the issue. Perhaps you could try offering some more information that may assist people. Is there going to be a fix to this issue? what can people do about this issue? Is intel going to do something or not?

Please do not post the link to the "official documentation" again.

Intel does not have plans to develop graphics drivers for Intel® HD Graphics 2000/3000 or SandyBridge technology for Windows 10.

Allan.
