Intel HD 4600 Digital Display vs. Television

Hi,

Can anyone comment on how the Intel Graphics driver determines a digital display vs digital tv? is it EDID or some other mechanism?

the issue I'm running into is that if both are working, and I turn them off, then back on (PC not going to sleep). sometimes one monitor comes up as a digital display, rather than the usual 2x Digtal Television. the two don't like to jive together and I have to reset the whole PC to get the card to recognize both displays again.

Hello mikm,

That procedure is processed by the graphics controller, the V-BIOS and the EDID of your monitor; these three components create a handshake to determine how to recognize the external device connected.
