hi, kevin_intel,

thank you for your response.

Still I do not understand, if I open your link (http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm Graphics Drivers — Configuration 3-Displays FAQ), go to "What three independent display configurations are supported?", then I chose "View information for Intel HD 4000 graphics..." and there is "View a comprehensive table of supported configurations and notes"

there are not only one configuration you described but three:

Active Display 1Active Display 2Active Display 3DisplayPort*DisplayPortHDMI* or DVI or VGA or DisplayPort or Built-in Display2 DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA Built-in Display3DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA or Built-in Display2DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGAIntel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi)

as far as I understand I satisfy all preconditions for the second configuration. Can you please advise if this is correct ?

Hi,

Appreciate if someone can advise me on below.

I have Asus Zenbook UX31E with Intel HD 4000 and am trying to connect two external displays in addition to the built in monitor.

First monitor is connected through VGA (mini-VGA but that doesn't change anything), second external monitor is connected through micro-HDMI, my built-in display is EDP (embedded display port).

Therefore as far as I understand from Intel support page:

in most cases, three independent displays are supported in the following configurations:

If two of the displays are DisplayPort monitors

If one of the displays is an Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi)

If the built-in display is an Embedded DisplayPort (eDP)

so that I satisfy conditions for the third case, but still i can not extend my desktop to two external displays (although I can see them in drop-down list).

Thank you

Hello i_yury,

The configuration you need to have triple display with the Intel® HD 4000 is the following:

You can get this information at the following Link:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm

It is a must to have two DP or mDP ports when using HD 4000. We always recommend using straight connection to avoid any problem during the configuration.

Kevin M

We will modify the information to make it clearer and easy to understand. For now here is the key for HD 4000 on triple display configuration:

• If two of the displays are DisplayPort* monitors

• If one of the displays is an Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi)

• If the built-in display is an Embedded DisplayPort1 (eDP)

I am sorry for the confusion with the page but It will modified soon.
