I am constantly getting the error message: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." This started after I upgraded to Windows 10. (why does the error message say Windows 8?) My graphics card Intel® HD Graphics 4600. I've gone through the discussions here and it seems like this is a common problem. I've tried the other suggestions that have been provided and nothing is working. I've uninstalled the driver and had windows reinstall for me. That didn't work. I was unable to download any other drivers, either from Intel or from my PC's manufacturer (i tried Intel Gfx driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Desktop) no matter what i try i get the message 'the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer" and it provides a link back to Intel. This happens no matter where i try to get my driver from.

My PC is: 530 Desktop (Lenovo)

Please advise. I am currently unable to play WOW, which may not seem like a big deal, but when you pay for a yearly subscription and it gets wasted, it is annoying. In working with their technical support, they indicated that this is a common problem now "we have started to see a large spike in users with an Intel(R) HD Graphics GPU report crashing with World of Warcraft. This issue appears to have come from 4000 Series drivers."

Thank you,

Hello, ronilou:

I understand your concern, for sure a yearly subscription has to be enjoyed the most and you have to level up also!

Have you tried with the graphics drivers below?

Note this is a generic driver from Intel® and any special features added by your computer manufacturer would not be accessible.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25489/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 [15.40][4th Gen]

This is the driver I found for the Lenovo H530/H530s for Windows 10* 64-bit you could also test it.

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Desktops-and-all-in-ones/Lenovo-H-Series-desktops/Lenovo-H530-Desktop/downloads/DS103588 http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Desktops-and-all-in-ones/Lenovo-H-Series-desktops/Lenovo-H530-Desktop/downloads/DS103588

Also, remember to install all the other drivers for the components in your PC by downloading them from your OEM's webiste:

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Desktops-and-all-in-ones/Lenovo-H-Series-desktops/Lenovo-H530-Desktop?linkTrack=Homepage:Body_Search%20Products Desktops and all in ones :: Lenovo H Series desktops :: Lenovo H530 Desktop - Lenovo Support (US)

I look forward to your outcome with this.

Regards,

Esteban C

hi! I appreciate you getting back to me!

I just tried both drivers you suggested - I had high hopes for the Lenovo one! - but both gave me the 'the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer" message. That makes no sense to me for the Lenovo one...it's their driver...

Any more thoughts?

thank you!

Hello, ronilou:

My recommendation would be to check the drives' status with your OEM and check WOW support for this, because it is an in-game issue they would probably already heard about it and they could have a workaround.

I look forward to your outcome with this, it would be helpful for other users.

Regards,

Esteban C
