If there is no any special need return to IDE mode (would not affect drives speed, but will cure the situation).

(not all ODD are born equal - some do not support AHCI mode to full extent)

Hi!

I have an ASUS P5K premium motherboard (P35) with Intel ICH9R chipset on it. I have enabled SATA as AHCI and disabled Jmicron controller.

I connected my HDD and Optiarc AD-7241S SATA DVD burner...

Installed Windows 7 x64, and Intel RST 9.6.0.1014 driver.

Well the problem is, that I cannot burn any dvd or cd. It just exits with error. I have replaced SATA burner with new one, same brand. I recive same error.

I also uninstalled intel RST and intalled old MSM. Same result.

Then I uninstalled everything from Intel and used default Win7 drivers. Again same story

Why can`t I burn DVD`s on Win7 x64 with Intel chipset?

Hardware is OK, Win7 is OK I guess drivers are problematic?

Any idea here?

Thanks!
