You should try using the latest BIOS that has been provided for this computer, which is posted here:

http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2360267 http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2360267

In addition, try using Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology 9.6, instead of Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager 8.9. This can be downloaded from this URL:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15251/eng/STOR_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=15251&DownloadType=Drivers&keyword=9.6 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15251/eng/STOR_allOS_9.6.0.1014_PV.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=15251&DownloadType=Drivers&keyword=9.6

You just need to run this executable file and this will update the driver by itself with no need to uninstall Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager

My laptop does not shut down completely when powered off. I got a blue screen indicating that there was a Driver Power State Failure. I got someone to review the dump files from the last two failures. There seems to be an issue with my iastor driver (Version 8.9.2.1002). I've been trying to find an update to the drive, but can't find one in the support section on the site. Can someone help me out here?

P.S. My BIOS is INSYDE 1.70 , 09/15/2009; model number A500-ST5601; OS: Windows 7

Dump message below:

Built by: 7600.16539.amd64fre.win7_gdr.100226-1909
