    <description>&lt;P&gt;4 weeks ago my system applied a windows update and problems began (BSOD and then freeze windows), I had to install windows serveral times and tried all kind of configurations... currently is working fine, let me explain you:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Current Configuration  (working fine):&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Dell Studio 1749, i3, windows 7 (64) home premium, 4GB Ram, 500 HD&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Video: Intel HD graphics                                      (3/31/2010   8.15.10.2104)&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Wireless: Intel Centrino Advanced N-6200 AGN     (1/13/2010   13.1.1.1)&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Ethenet:  Realtek PCIe GBe Family Controller      (1/12/2010   7.13.112.2010)&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;These are the final actions I followed to fix my laptop, some steps could sounds rare, but trust me, these actions works for me:&lt;P&gt; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;1) Reinstall windows 7.   Sorry, but any system restore point works for me.&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Run windows update.  Try several times until you be sure all update has been applied.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) Install the last Adobe Flash Player Beta (plug-in) available, this is an important step, please download from:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="http://labs.adobe.com/"&gt;http://labs.adobe.com/&lt;/A&gt;  (don't let to your browser to install this software)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4) Disable Intel SpeedStep in your BIOS configuration.  (how: Restart and press F2 to enter to your BIOS config).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5) From your manufacturer site, download the latest update for : BIOS, Video and Network Ethernet.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;At this moment, don't worry for any error in your Device Manager (wireless, modem, reader card, ...)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5) Install BIOS update. Restart  (be sure you have a UPS or battery charged)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6) Install Video update. Restart&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;7) Install Network Ethernet driver. Restart.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":smiling_face_with_sunglasses:"&gt;😎&lt;/span&gt; Run windows update and applied all files they suggest.  In my case, there is a windows driver update for the ethernet card, I applied it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;9) When you are sure all updates has been applied, turn off the automaticaly windows update.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;10) I installed my security software:  Firewall (Comodo); Antivirus (Avira)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;11) Test your system for hours (days) until you be sure your system is working without any issue. If you are having a freezing or any other issue, review&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;your LOG System events (View Events Log), and google the message.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Important, at this moment:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- I have installed Office, but no Java software and any software that require windows framework software.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- I avoided to install my usual programs like Ad-Aware, Photodraw... also I suggest don't install your other drivers (wireless, bluetooh...) until you be&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sure your system is working fine.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- I just applied drivers update only from the manufacturer (Dell), if I applied drivers from Intel Site, my system fail again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;I hope this steps can help you. &lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Excuse my english and Good Luck!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Add me to the list of people who get a black screen....&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;HP G60t-200CTO&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Windows 7 64 bit.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I uninstalled the previous intel driver (8.15.10.1986) and installed 8.15.10.2086.. and got a black screan... grrr... Other older intel drivers have worked just fine so I don't agree that it's a special vendor bios issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;   -Devoh&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sony VGN-SR210D&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Win 7 x64&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Installed 2082 using windows update. Got the black screen and must use safe mode to see.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;Later I went on the intel site (in safe mode) and looked for updates. 2086 was available. Installed 2086. Still black screen and must use safe mode to see, again.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same issue here with a new Gateway NV5905h laptop. Had to go back to the driver that shipped with it. The two latest Intel HD drivers boot to a black screen.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Last night I let windows 7 patch itself.. and it wanted to apply an Intel series 4 graphics driver version 2082...  I thought well iif Microsoft is recommending it.. they should know if it works ok..  I let it patch itself and black screen..       <description>&lt;P&gt;i'm having the same problem. i bought this laptop so i could play games on it as well but i needed this driver for need for spee shift. installed it then the screen went black and i couldn't see a thing. had to go to safe mode and system restore.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This is yet another confirmation that 8.15.10.2086, whether from Intel's site or Windows Update, hangs up after going to a blank screen. In my case, it is 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium on an Acer Aspire 5740-5509 (Core i3-330m).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've tried several times and each time resorted to F8 during boot-up to go into Safe mode, and then using Control Panel/Recovery to go to a previous restore point.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;yeah, the latest driver version for windows7 GMA HD is really buggy, i experienced a lot of stuttering when playing warcraft:frozen throne that gma hd can handle so easy even when doing desktop work like browsing and MS office. pls tel Intel to update their version&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I suffer from this problem as well.  I originally installed the updated driver to fix another issue, but just rolled it back when it caused this issue (BTW, be sure to delete the driver when you uninstall in safe mode, otherwise it'll get reinstalled).  But pushing it out through Windows Update?  Most computer users wouldn't have the first idea of how to uninstall the driver.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My configuration: Win7 Professional 64 bit on a Sony FW270J (4500 MHD graphics).  8.15.10.2021 works fine (in regards to this issue).&lt;/P&gt;</description>
