I just upgraded my HP dv6t-3200 laptop from Win7 to Windows 8 Pro (64 bit) and am encountering problems with the HDMI port when using Windows 8 Media Center to play recorded tv shows. The video starts playing but immediately begins repeating the first few seconds of audio, then stops playing after about 5 seconds and says video file cannot be played. The problem only happens when playing the videos through the HDMI port to my TV. If I unplug the HDMI cable and watch the videos on the built-in laptop display, everything works fine. The HDMI graphics also work fine for normal desktop display, but won't play the media center videos properly. It appears to be a bug in the Intel HD graphics driver.

My adapter type is "Intel(R) HD Graphics". My chip type is "Intel(R) HD Graphics (core i3)".

If I try to install the latest driver 15.28.8.64.2875, it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."

I found a way to trick the driver into working. If I unplug the HDMI cable, launch media center and start a video playing, then plug in the HDMI cable, it will continue playing the video. I also discovered that "Windows Media Player" will play the recorded tv videos through the HDMI port but "Windows Media Center" will not.
