Is there a reason, why Skylake Graphics are unsupportet in Windows 8 32/64 bit and working well using Windows 7 ?

The Intel HD Graphics 530 supports Windows 8 32/64, what is the error you get or what is exactly is happening when you install Windows 8?

I will appreciate if you can provide us more detailed information about the issue you have and your hardware configuration.

If i try to setup the graphics driver file "Intel ® Grafik-Treiber für Windows ® 7/8.1/10* [15.40 6. Generation] Version: 15.40.14.4352" the setup stops with "this system did not meet the minimum system requirements for install this software"

Windows 8 is not in the list of supported operating systems for skylake GPU's in the igdlh64.inf ! Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 support BDW and SKL, but Windows 8 only BDW

I'm sorry you are correct there is no driver for Windows 8 using the skylake.

Unfortunately this driver will not be available for Windows 8 only for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10

Are there any plans to correct this issue in this driver, or is there a technical reason, which nobody knows, because I'm almost sure, there is no difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 referring the graphic subsystem!

So if this issue will not be corrected, NO skylake product can be used in the embedded channel, because Windows Embedded 8 will NEVER get a update to 8.1 or to Windows 10. Windows Embedded 8 is the last modular embedded operating system!

Windows 8 support for Skylake is included in the Beta driver 15.40.18.4380

Please try the driver for Windows 8.1 and if you have any problems let me know.

Sorry for the late response, but i'm a little busy last weeks ...

So the try to setup beta 15.40.18.4380 is working perfect! Driver also seems working good!

So. This was the good news!

Now the not so good one:

Try uninstalling the driver, restart your system and then install the latest Beta driver, if you still encounter this problem then most likely the driver will not support Windows 8, it will support Windows® 7/8.1/10* only.
