Directx 9 not handled by Intel(R) HD Graphics 630

Just bought a new Windows 10 laptop, has dual display adapters, Nvidia and Intel(R) HD Graphics 630. The DirectX 9 application I want to use will not open, Windows 10 claims there is no adapter on the system to handle Directx 9. Thank you.

Hi ASimWen ,

Windows 10 doesn't come by default with DirectX9. You need to install it from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center

Besides trying the suggestion above, I just wanted to let you know that at this point we are working in releasing the graphics drivers for Intel® HD graphics 630 controller, they will be available any time soon, so please keep checking our web site:

Additionally in this case we recommend to use the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, once you install them you should be able to use the DirectX 9 application.

Thank you for this information. I attempted install, Windows came back and said the best driver was already installed, so did not install this new driver.
