Peter, Thanks for the update. Not quite sure why the intel site leads to a download page but c'est la vie. I'm not used to fiddling around with drivers on windows. I assumed the drivers were written to standard APIs that evolving versions of Windows would continue to support/use, so my assumption is not correct. The display works for 3 different versions of Linux I previously tried. Thanks again for your help. Looks like I'll be reloading XP again! Best regards.

Hi,

I navigated my way through the Intel driver update for a 852gm Video/Chipset driver update for Windows 7 32bit professional, arriving at a driver match on: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng, dated 1/14/2010 (no version is given).

Clicking on the given link (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18576&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18576&lang=eng) brings me to the Download page where I get the "To begin the Download process, click Download".

However, there is no "Download" button, and the given url brings me more-or-less back to the start of the Download Center search

Note that:

- the 852GM is NOT one of the chipsets for which the Intel note says there will be no more updates;

- the Intel Driver Update Utility indicated that a manual search is required in the Download Center.

Can anyone point me to the correct url to download the 852GM driver or shed some light on my issue ?

BR

fergus.

Take it on the nose Intel will not list drivers for Windows 7 so what ever drivers Windows 7 has to allow it to run or not thats all your going to get.

The 852GM is over 6 years old Launch Date Q2 04.
