Raid 1 array constantly needs to 'verify'

Hello

I've set up a RAID 1 array and it was ok at first. However I am noticing now that every 2-3 weeks or so, it needs to verify the data. On a 1.5TB array this takes a long time and takes up a lot of resources. It's pretty fustrating and I'm not sure if it's the chipset that is causing the fault, or if its maybe the disks themselves that are causing the issue. Is there any way to determine which is the culprit? The logs from Intel are somewhat lacking in why the paticular failure occured just that it needs to 'verify'.

I recently rebuilt to Windows 7 but it's still happening. Ironically I went to Windows 7 from XP in some vain hope this would be fixed
