Intel GMA 950 on chispet Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family

I recently installed newer version of the driver 8.15.10.1930 for GMA 950 and it seems to be quite unstable. Formerly I could produce only 1360 x 786

but it keeps changing the resolution and also the resolution values I can choose on Windows 7 x64 feature to set the screen resolution.

Hello,

Please be aware that we provide generic drivers that have not been developed or tested specially for your system. Each motherboard, laptop or Original Equipment Manufacturer can add, remove and change features on the video controllers they implement on their systems. Therefore they provide customized drivers to support such changes. So we always recommend using the latest drivers provided directly by your motherboard or Original Equipment Manufacturer.

From our side, we have not seen any similar issue since the driver was posted back in 2009. Possibly there might be a problem when using such generic driver instead of the customized one.

In this case, we suggest using the latest driver that was provided by your laptop manufacturer and check if the problem persists.

I have an old laptop HP 530 and it was strange to see such resolutions I never seen them before it just happened after installed last version of the driver on Windows 7 x64 bit sp1.

It happened during normal work and just after a restart it was fixed.
