Chipset Identification Utility does not work

Hello,

I downloaded v3.25 of this tool from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=861&DwnldID=18498&lang=eng

Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

It tells me to run it as administrator. Right click -> run as administrator. Still tells me the same.

Go to the properties of the file, select 'run as administrator'. Still same message.

Disable UAC, restart Windows. Still the same message.

My user account is Administrator.

How can I get this thing to work?

I have a Window 7 Ultimate 64-bit laptop, i7-820QM processor. I downloaded the Intel Chipset Identification Utility Version 3.25 to verify the chipset and driver version. Whenever I try to run it logged in as administrator and right click and select run as administrator or disable UAC and log in as administrator, it always gives the error message that the Utility must be run as administrator. I did some googling and see many others have this issue but have not found a solution. Does anyone have a solution documented??

I noticed you're both running 64-bit versions of the OS, and the tool only supports 32-bit versions. That might be it ..

By the way, the utility doesn't list driver versions. If you're looking for specific driver versions, depending on what drivers they are, you might be able to try the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility @ http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm or the beta for the Intel(R) System Identification Utility @ http://www.intel.com/support/siu_la.htm http://www.intel.com/support/siu_la.htm
