topic display problem in Graphics

I have a Intel D845GEB-V2 mother board with integrated graphics controller onboard. The OS is XP Pro. SP3. I have downloaded what appears to be the latest version of the drivers, (6.14.10.3762) and when i run this setup my display reverts to 640X480 resolution and 4 bit color rendering. I am looking for a fix to this problem. I have tried to run the applet that determines what graphigs controller I have to no avail. It tells me that it is not a Intel graphics card. This is not true, It is a straight Intel board with no aftermarket boards installed. I have 756 mg ram and a 40 gig hdd. ALL other software installed fine on first try. Any help or insite would be appreciated.
