Hello ssaron,

Thank you for the information. In this case I would recommend to uninstall and delete the driver in your system, and then install the previous version of the driver for the Intel® HD Graphics 4000 controller. This way you can test again and see if the issue is fixed.

Please follow the steps below to uninstall the graphics driver:

On the keyboard, press WinLogo key + R, then type in devmgmt.msc

Expand the Display Adapters section.

Find the Intel Graphics Driver. The driver can also be called the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (Intel® GMA Driver).

Right-click the Intel Graphics Driver and select Uninstall.

Select the check box Delete the driver software for this device.

Reboot the computer after uninstall process has finished.

Please follow these steps in order to update the graphics driver:

Download the graphics driver ZIP file: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25977/eng/win64_153343.4425.zip

Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.

Right-click Windows Start icon and open Device Manager.

Click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.

Expand the Display adapters section.

Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.

Click "Browse my computer for driver software".

Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

Click "Have Disk".

Click "Browse".

Access the designated location or folder, and access a folder called "Graphics".

Select the file called "igdlh64" or "igdlh".

Click Open, then click OK, and finally click Next. Drivers are now being installed.

Reboot your computer when prompted.

Regards,

Xavier A.

Hello! I can't connect to another screen with the HDMI port since a year or so. I tried to install the latest version of the drivers and the problem keeps happening. I use the same cable and TV with another lenovo laptop and have zero problems, but in this one it doesn't even recognize that I plugged the HDMI connector. I have no problems in ubuntu, so I'm fairly sure the intel driver in windows 10 is the problem

Please follow these steps:

In the keyboard, press WinLogo key + R.

In the Run box please type dxdiag and hit Enter.

Click on Save All Information (save it in your desktop).

Please attach to this thread the TXT file with the report.

To attach a file, you must click "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the "attach" option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

Regards,

Xavier A.

(check the date at right side)

6- than select and click next. screen will be gone and fix maybe. sorry for my english

feedback please

Regards,

Xavier A.

Xavier thanks for your time man, but I'm afraid it's still not working with the procedure you recomended. Do you think it's worth trying with W10 or should I better downgrade to W8.1 where it worked fine? As I said, when I use a HDMI to VGA converter there's no problem with the port, and I can still use the hdmi on Ubuntu. I let you a nex Dx diag if you need it:

https://mega.nz/# !t0hgiKZD!hRtzJqwfN7wQWI35Vu2UoGCN0eD6BegF5dOemOJOaUg

Thanks again!

Hello ssaron,

I am sorry to see that the issue is still happening. I would recommend then to try with the driver provided by the computer manufacturer, but after searching in the Lenovo™ website, I only found drivers supported up to Windows® 8.1: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/no/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-s-series-netbooks/ideapad-s400-touch-notebook/downloads

If this is the case, it is very likely that the computer manufacturer is not providing support for this computer in Windows® 10, and this could be the cause of this issue.

Any way, I can recommend you to downgrade to Windows® 8.1 and try either with the driver from Lenovo™ or with the driver from Intel®. You mentioned that it worked fine with that version of Windows®, so I suppose you will not have any issue if you downgrade the operating system.

Regards,

Xavier A.

Hello Xavier! Fortunately before I gave format to the hdd I tried a last resort. I did the procedure you told me with the HDMI connected at all moments. When I installed the driver it didn't work after the first reeboot, but i disconnected the hdmi and turned off the lap and then I connected it again and started the laptop. I don't know why, but it's working normally now! Thanks for the help man, and I hope Intel fixes the problem soon so I can go back to the newest drivers
