I want to know if it is possible to achieve more than 60hz on a external screen? I have a 144HZ Monitor and want 120hz over HDMI (Im running at 1024x768).

Thanks in advance.

Hello, X3VeZ:

Thank you for contacting the Intel Communities.

From Intel® HD Graphics end, we are aware that different resolutions can run up to 60 Hz, more than that we cannot assure it is going to work properly.

My recommendation would be to double check with your OEM or Nvidia if this can be achieved with this device, this is because they integrated (OEM-Lenovo) and created the GPU (Nvidia), for that reason they could provide you with more accurate information about how their product works.

I look forward to hearing from you on the possible outcome provided by the other partners.

If any additional questions or inquiries are present, feel free to contact us back.

Regards,

Esteban C

Alright, so i succesfully made custom resolutions for my 144hz screen. But since its HDMI output is ver 1.3 it cant output more than 75hz. I recently bought a hdmi to dvi dual link from ebay. Do you think it will work?

Thank you for your answer on this.

In this case, it most likely will be on the adapter side, for sure, it has to be active (if available) and capable of reaching that amount of bandwith/workload, but unfortunately I cannot make sure it is going to work due to the fact the interface's technology/standard is to work up to 75hz as previously advised.

Please keep us posted on this for further information on how this can be achieved or not with adapter.

Regards,

Esteban C

Unfortunately the pictures on the adapter was bad so I bought a DVI-I which my monitor doesn't support. I ordered a DVI-D and it should come within the next 2 days if the estimated shipping is right. I will keep you updated when it arrives. And sorry for the fact that i haven't updated on all the stuff.

So for some reason the 120hz is deleted when it's connected via DVI-D. Shouldn't the profile always be there? If so is there any way to patch the maximum exceed on the 4600 HD?

UPDATE: I did it! After months of research I finally got 120hz with intergrated graphics card. I just had to restart my PC (amateur i know hah). Things I used in the process

-Intel's CustomModeApp (should be preinstalled)

-ToastyX Custom Resolution Utility

-ASUS VG248QE

And I will be using the LightBoost Feature with Strobelight by ToastyX

So Esteban. After all, Intel HD 4600 does somehow support more than 60hz with a external monitor with help from third-party programs.
