Please, let us know how it is possible to provide beta driver for games, when base functionality of graphic adapter is not working?

People who want to extend or duplicate monitors to DVI or HDMI are having a major flaws.

Does Intel have a test center? Is it possible to test your new driver with windows 7 on haswell boards with processors equipped Intel HD 4600?

I can not imagine company like that, and shameful situation like this.

We appreciate your feedback however, this thread was specifically started to track driver compatibility with specific games and the beta driver. Please post your concerns with other display issues in the appropriate threads.

So there are issues installing this beta driver on Surface Pros. When using the setup in the folder it states that this driver is not validated.

To avoid this I attempted to install through device manager and after guiding it to the folder, it attempts to install for a brief moment. Then it says that "windows has determined that driver is already up to date" so the beta driver has not installed using either of these methods.

Is there another way to install this driver?

@hass,,I just verified installation on a Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1. Here are the steps I used:

1. Login with administrator privileges

2. Open Control Panel

3. Open Device Manager

4. Click on "Display adapters"

5. Double click "Intel HD Graphics"

6. Click on the "Driver" tab

7. Click on "Update Driver" button

8. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"

9. Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

10. Click on "Have Disk" button

11. Click "Browse"

12. Navigate to the folder that you unzipped the Beta Intel HD Graphics driver to

13.Navigate to the Graphics sub-folder

14. Double click the igdlh64.inf or igdlh.inf file <-- depends on if you have 32 or 64 bit OS

15.Click "OK"

16. Click "Next"

Driver should now be installing.

17. If successful, click "Close"

Reboot.

Thank you so much! I hadn't been doing the "have disc" part so total user error there.

Titanfall comes out march 11th so I'll post some feedback once I can test it out.

(on windows 8.1) After installing this driver , my laptop display stopped working .. i had to restore my old system restore backup using safe mode.. please fix this issue.. its a hp probook 4440s with intel hd 4000

@ suyash691,, HP customizes the drivers for their systems. Installing the generic drivers can result in the system not functioning properly. That is why we do not recommend installing the generic drivers on a system with customized drivers. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

i have been installing the non beta driver from intel website and they work so your assumption seems wrong.... and ALL drivers from intel site have been working except this one

Last night i installed the beta driver -15.33.0.3464- on my HP Probook 6470b (comes with a Intel HD 4000 gfx) with Windows 8 Pro x64. After installing the beta driver, it suffered a black screen. I had to boot in safe mode and uninstall the driver.

I installed the beta driver manually through compmgmt. After uninstall, reboot and installing the latest stable 15.33.14.64.3412, it was all fine again.

Note also in Thief, with the latest stable driver 15.33.14.64.3412, the graphics on my HD 4000 suffer blurry textures (even when close to something, like a wall or a painting in the game) and also sometimes even black textures on surfaces. So i hope the new driver can solve these issues.

I've read on several fora that the blurry textures issue can be related to texture streaming of the Thief UT engine. Although, in Bioshock Infinite, i don't suffer from these issues (The 3d engine behind Bioshock Infinite & Thief is basically the same). I already tried different in-game settings like low textures or high textures settings, but it all doesn't make any difference. I can run Bioshock with med to high texture settings, so i suppose it should be possible with the new Thief.

i think i found the cause of the black screen maybe ...... this time after installing driver and getting black screen i went to safe mode and checked system 32 folder and found that every file copied by this new driver had a suffix of "v2_0" like "custommodeappv2_0" and even every dll file had that ...... Is it intentional for every file to have a version 2_0 suffix on their file names??

I am thinking about buying Titanfall and I would probably need to download this driver... ive never done this before and im worried that my laptop will not function or crash or have to restore or something. I have Toshiba Windows 8.1 64-bit Intel Pentium Dual Core @ 2.40 Ghz, Intel HD Graphics, 6gb Ram, 5.99 usuable...im not sure what other info to put but would I be able to update and have no problems?

If i where you, i would wait to install the new driver until the stable release. Unless you want to use for testing of course.

(I don't known if Intel compiles beta drivers in debug mode or release/production for performance testing. Most beta's are compiled against less aggressive compiler optimization routines).

i wouldn't recommend it on laptop cuz on my laptop after this driver it fails to recognize inbuilt laptop display... and i have to end up restoring so if u wanna try take a leap of faith
