Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E Graphics Driver

I have Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BA1-E. I have installed video dirvers which has came along with cd eventhough i can only use the resolutions like standard VGA adapter.

It's showing me as Intel(R) E7221integrated graphics controller has installed.

But i am able to use only 3resolution types like standard VGA not more than those.

The three types are

1) 800 by 600

2) 1024 by 768

3) 1280 by 1024

I have downloaded the drivers by using the following link and installed even after that also same problem.

My OS is Windows 2003 server Enterprise Edition SP2.

Can any one suggest me to get more resolution types?.

I should use more resolution types so please can any one help me on this.

Hi,

The max resolution that you get of 1280x800 is because of the limitations of the integrated graphics provided by your chipset i.e. http://www.intel.com/products/server/chipsets/e7221/e7221-overview.htm E7221.

For a resolution higher than this, you would need to check for the compatible GPU so that you can plug it in and get higher resolution. Besides this, the integrated Intel® integrated SVGA video for this board would not allow you to do dual/multi-mode display.

This adds to my curiosity … what exactly are you planning to do with higher resolution than the already provided. In case you need a solution to work on, we can always assist you.

I have clearly mentioned in the above post what are the resolution types i am getting even after i have installed video drivers also.

I need the following resolutions types also.

1) 1152 by 864

2) 1280 by 720

3) 1280 by 768

4) 1280 by 800

These resolutions types are enough for me.

As per you words you are saying that i can get max resolution at 1280 by 768. If i get that one also fine for me but i am not getting.

Here my question is how can i get the all below mentioned resolution types atleast and what i need to do?.

1) 800 by 600

2) 1024 by 768

3) 1152 by 864

4) 1280 by 720

5) 1280 by 768

Page 64. Supported Video Resolution.

It does appear to support up to 1920x1440 on a 60,75 and 85Hz Refresh Rate.

How about your monitor. Does it support high resolutions?

Maybe there is another drive around. Let me do some research on my own.

By the way, i have seen strange behaviour when the monitor driver has not been installed.

So why not, try to see on the monitor manufacturer's website if there is any drivers for it.

Other than this, i do not have a single clue.

Hi Sriborn2do,

After going through your posts and solutions proposed,I conceive that it could be your monitor problem. As identified earlier by Zeus and Aryan, the monitor that you are using might not be supporting the resolutions and is either missing a driver or needs a change in configuration such as resolution and refresh rate. I had a lot of experience over BA1-E with LCDs that supported a greater resolution and never experienced such a problem lest I'm using it with a CRT or LCD that does not support high resolution. I think Zeus and Aryan have done a great job on getting you a lot more information and resources to identify and fix the problem however in case you still fail to do so, feel free to contact us.
