1) Excellent work for OpenGL drivers!

For the first time the entire collection - almost - of MadShaders v0.3.0 can be played without problems.

Only one corruption and one crashing.

a) Corruption in "Dolphin"

b) Crashing in "# 6254" test

although,

2) Cinebench R15 OpenGL reference quality test is still below AMD and Nvidia drivers

3) VC1_VLD2010 is still limited in 1080p decoding

4) You brought back officially this time GPU accelerated HEVC support.

From the release notes:

HEVC decode now supported by the driver and video players can now take advantage of the GPU accelerated decode support offered by Intel

But using DXVA Checker I didn't see any HEVC device decoder.

How is this support implemented ?

Is it a full HW acceleration (VLD) support or partial HW acceleration using CPU too ?

Does it use EUs and/or QuickSync HW ?

5) It's been 6 months since this bug https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/496318 https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/496318

Not even the latest Intel GPA and Intel driver 3621 solved that issue!

How is this possible after six months to not be able to solve that bug ?

Thanks!

Hello Robert,

Please clarify for us who use this driver. It is a beta version, is it not?

After clicking win64_153322.exe, a Readme file pops up and in it, right at the very top, are the words Beta version.

There are 3 likely scenarios:

1. There exists a final release version; however the website administrator uploaded the beta version by mistake.

2. The version whose link is provided by Robert is the final release; however someone forgot to delete the words Beta version and replace them with Final Release.

3. There is no final version and the website administrator forgot to highlight this fact on the relevant web page.

Good suggestion

Please include the hashsum (SHA1 or SHA512 but not MD5) on the relevant download page so as to ensure that the file has not been tampered with.

If you had included a hashsum for win64_153322.exe and it matched the one that I had downloaded from Intel Download Center, I would be able to exclude scenarios # 1 and # 3.

Robert, could you please ask the administrator or the person in-charge of Intel Download Center to provide hashsums for all the drivers available for download? As you know, cyber hijackings are on the rise.

Thank you for your assistance.

@ mailto:m@V8 m@V8, This is the production version of the driver. The readme is incorrect and will be updated immediately. However, the readme download is correct and states "Production Version"

http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23885/eng/Installation_Readme64.txt http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23885/eng/Installation_Readme64.txt

I will forward your suggestion for hashsums to the Download Center team.

Thanks

Robert

@Robert_U

Thank you for your immediate feedback!

3) I just want to remind you, that all other modes (VC1_VLD_ClearVideo, VC1_VLD_2_ClearVideo, WMV9_IDCT, VC1_IDCT) are working just fine up to 4K

4) For my Pentium G3420 (Haswell core), unfortunately you haven't enabled HEVC_VLD_Main.

Probably because of "only" 10 EUs of Intel HD graphics, instead of the 20 EUs that almost all the other Haswell processors have.

But all Pentiums, as dual core processors, need desperately this extra help of GPU, in order to decode HEVC, because of slower CPU power than the quad core models!

Even if the iGPU of a Pentium is slow, it will be a second processor helping the main CPU to get the job done!

I think it is necessary to enable HEVC GPU accelerated decoding for Intel HD graphics too, in your next driver release.

Is there a reason of disabling it in this driver release ?

Thanks!

After installing this i have no audio on HDMI whatsoever. Regardless of the order of turning devices on or off. Rebooted twice. "Not plugged in". red cross over the speaker icon in taskbar.

On previous versions I would at least have HDMI audio before a suspend. 7 months after Intel finally acknowledged this bug, and now declared it fixed...

After restoring previous version I have HDMI audio again. Until next suspend.

(Win7 64, Onkyo AVR, Samsung TV, Asus mobo, 4th gen Intel - ALL on latest firmware and updates.)

Update: On first install, driver actually did not install (successfully) the Intel Display Audio part - so Windows was using Microsoft "High Definition" driver - therefore no sound on HDMI. There was no error message during the installation. After removing and re-installing Intel driver, driver was installed and worked. Survived first sleep/resume cycle, and then stopped working on second one.

Looking at audio properties, I could see that in Device Manager, instead of "This device is working properly" message, I got a "This device does not have a driver installed" message. In "Playback devices", Display/HDMI audio device was gone completely, only analogue and SPDIF devices where listed.

Trying to disable/re-enable driver in device manager, froze MMC, which I had to kill using Task Manager. This is an issue as old as Intel Display driver.

After using De-install Driver option in Device Manager, I selected "Scan for hardware changes" which immediately re-installed and re-activated Intel Display Audio driver - and HDMI audio was working again.

Until next sleep/resume.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour, or does anyone have a working HDMI audio with this driver?

Thanks, Andrej

After installing I discovered my machine would lock its CPU FID multiplier to the lowest setting when on battery. Everything runs very slowly unless I switch to performance / plug in the machine.

Reverted back to the previous driver and the problem is gone.

Intel,

I recently downloaded divers 15.33.22.64.3621 and I have came across a few bugs with it. The problems that I am having with it is that every so often the sound will not work. I have to restart the computer to get the sound to come back. I also have a problem with the fact that when I use my headphones the sound that comes out the Left side is louder then. I have downgraded back to 15.33.18.64.3496 and everything works fine. Please look in to fixing these issues for the next release.

Hello,

I installed the version 3621 driver under Windows 7 Pro x64 and had the same problems experienced with version 3496. I have reverted to version 3345.

I posted in the "Official Black-screen thread" about it. The post can be found /thread/39881?start=168 here. (My other posts to Intel in that thread can be found /thread/39881?start=107 here and /thread/39881?start=151 here.)

I have an LCD monitor connected via DVI and a HD TV connected via HDMI.

With version 3621, the hotkey F8, which should restore the graphics defaults, switches the output to "Projector only", which sends the signal to the HDMI connector. The DVI-connected monitor goes dark.

With version 3345, the hotkey F8 always restores output to the DVI monitor.

With any Intel HD graphics driver on my system, output for CHKDSK on the system drive is directed to the HDMI connector instead of the DVI monitor, even if the TV is off. (If I start up the PC on a CD with a Linux distro, the output is also directed to the HDMI-connected HD TV even if it is off.)

The Intel HD drivers are not correctly identifying the default output connectors. There is no valid reason to ever favor HDMI over DVI (or VGA) unless such a choice is made (somehow) by the user. (I could certainly understand using HDMI output if nothing is connected to VGA or DVI.)

I implore Intel to address this "wrong screen" problem ASAP.

regards, AndyA

Hello. When I first began using my dell laptop (specs below) my screen would always be black (never to wake up without reboot) when I returned to it after the screen went to sleep.

Installing the new drivers has mostly alleviated this problem, however nowadays I still get stuck with the black screen any time I try to wake the computer up AND I have my external Samsung monitor connected to the HDMI port.

Is anyone else having this issue, or is there a fix on the way possibly? Thanks for any info!

System:

Dell 7000 laptop

Intel core i5 4200U CPU @ 1.6 GHz

8GB Ram

64 bit Windows 8.1

Intel HD Graphics family driver 10.18.10.3621
