Hi,

I am currently using the VGA slot to run my monitor.

I would like to use a second widescreen monitor at the same time for database work.

The free ports on the back of my computer are an HDMI port towards the top and a DVI-D port which sits next to the VGA port.

I went to buy a monitor today with a DVI-D connection and was planning on running it to either the DVI-D port via a direct DVI-D cable or to the HDMI port via a DVI-D to HDMI cable.

The guy said I should check if my system supports dual monitors first but I can't figure it out!

Can anyone help?

Here's the dxdiag info if that helps?!

Hello,

The video controller, Intel® HD Graphics, in your processor is able to support dual display configurations, either Clone mode or Extended desktop using the VGA port and the other two ports you mentioned (DVI-D or HDMI). In this case the video controller is not a limitation for that.

You may still want to check with your computer manufacturer if there is any limitation to this through their system BIOS, however this is not really common.
