945GM: VGA to Component (RGB) - Notebook to HDTV

I have a Dell D620 with the Intel 945GM chipset. I was wondering if VGA output from my notebook to my Panasonic HDTV via component input was possible. I have a VGA to component cable, the notebook recognizes a second display is attached, but I only get a black screen on my TV.

Dell D620

Intel 945GM

W7 x64 Ultimate

42" Panasonic Plasma

VGA -> Component (RGB)

Did you ever get and answer to your question on VGA to RGB (Y,Pr,Pb) video signal output function to work.

I trust you have.

I am trying to do same.

I gather for the image to display properly you need to check you VGA card for support.

From there I am not sure where to go.

Not directly; apparently my card didn't support VGA to component.

However, I did pick up a docking station for my notebook and just ran DVI to HDMI to get around the issue.
