I recently had a hard drive go bad, so I changed to linux Mint. The problem being that I still have an intel graphics card, and Intel's Linux graphics installer doesn't recognize my version, and thus wont install the driver. I know editing the "lsb-release" file might solve this, but I haven't found any place that told me the correct version to change the file to say.

I am at the end of my rope on this problem. If anybody has gotten intel graphics to work on Linux Mint, please help me out.

I am running an Inspiron 17R 7720. Only thing ever replaced in it was the hard drive after it went bad.

My processor is an Intel Xeon E3-1200.

The issue i'm having is that the Graphics driver installer is not recognizing my distro.

The linux graphics installer was making it to the 3rd step, and failing after reading for my distro, now however it seems to stop at trying to connect to 01.org. Here is what it prints out.

Checking if Intel graphics card available... OK

Retrieving information from 01.org... Failed

So I suppose now I have problems with the 01.org servers on top of it not recognizing my distro. The community.linuxmint link you sent is also not loading.
