Intel G41 Drivers Causing Blank screen on Win 7 boot-up

I recently built a computer based on an MSI G41THM-43 Motherboard. The default Win 7 drivers work fine, but If I try the updated .1872 drivers from Windows update, or The .1892 driver package from Intel, I get a blank screen (monitor light even goes from green to red) half way during the windows 7 loading scrren. I need to boot into safe mode and roll back to the default windows WDM drivers.

I am connected to a single monitor through DVI, but my board supports HDMI - Could auto switching to HDMI be the culprit ?

The only other thing is that I have an old ATX case, and have connected a 20pin power connector to the boards 24 pin socket. Everything else works so I don't think lack of power is the issue.

Any suggestions or solution greatly appeciated,

Is best if you install the latest drivers found on MSI as it is the manufacturer of your motherboard

billywonka123, can you be more specific about driver version? The latest version is 14.38.11.5157. Do't know what youre talking about pointing ".1892". I do have DG41MJ motherboard & I faced same trouble: there was no video out via DVI port. Only D-Sub was working. I had to roll back to previsous drivers: 14.38.06.5082. The problem occured with 14.38.10.5132 drivers. I haven't tested the latest one yet.

I have managed to get my system running ok using the Intel drivers from the MSI website (drivers are older though). I also had a look at Gigabyte and found some slightly updated drivers that work (G41 Mobo with HDMI). Both of these driver packages must modify the standard intel ones slightly somehow. Any way, I'm happy for the moment:

8.15.10.1851 (21/07/2009) (GIGABYTE GFX DRIVER) ---Works fine

8.15.10.1872 (13/08/2009) (WINDOWS UPDATE) ---- Blanks Screen even before restart

15.15.6.1892 (LATEST INTEL INTEL DRIVER) --- Blanks screen on restart

i just installed win7 x64 and it continously blanks screen on and off. I used the older MSI driver as per the previous post and it is now ok

I am having the same problem with a MSI G41MT-43E board.

The HDMI video was not completly reliable so I updated teh drivers from the Intel site.

Afterwards I had to use a VGA cable as HDMI was blank.

I am trying DVI to see if there is any difference.

At first I thought I selected the wrng driver, but Windows Update even shows the new driver.
